In order to have the waving flag image automatically placed in your emails, you will need to create/modify a signature or a stationary with it on it.

First you will need to save the wflag.gif file:

Store it on your harddrive. (right click on it and save someplace you'll remember on your hard drive).

Once you have placed the wflag.gif file on your harddrive, you will need to do one of two things:

  1. Create or modify an existing Signature (easiest/best).
  2. Create or modify an existing Stationary.

Creating or modifying an existing signature is by far the simplest method and most reliable way to get the waving flag on all of your emails.

First you need to open Outlook then choose Tools/Options:

Go to mail format, then Signatures:

Choose "New" to create a new signature or "Edit" to modify an existing signature:

"Advance Edit" your signature:

If you have one, this will bring up an HTML editor. Add what you want to your signature and place the waving flag GIF (wflag.gif) in it by either right clicking the waving flag GIF on this webpage and pasting it on your signature or inserting the GIF from your harddrive.

Save it then change the default signature settings:

Your done!!!!!!!!!!!

If this does not work then try creating a stationary:

Creating a stationary is a less effective way but works with new emails created. Replied or forwarded emails will not use your flag stationary.

Stationary is located (in Outlook XP) here:

go to mail format, then stationary picker:

create a new stationary:

a screen comes up   press next, then in this screen, right click in the preview area and choose view source:

add the red line into the source with it modified to point to the wflag.gif file:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>flag Stationery</TITLE>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<META content="MSHTML 6.00.2505.0" name=GENERATOR></HEAD>
<BODY
style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; COLOR: #000000; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #a6caf0"
bgColor=#a6caf0 background=""><FONT face=Arial color=#000000 size=3>
<img id="ridImg" src="C:\Documents and Settings\jpdurbin\My Documents\My Pictures\flag.gif" align=bottom>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV></FONT></BODY></HTML>

then save.

You will need to choose the stationary after you have created it:
